Lockheed Martin QA Engineer in Shelton, Connecticut
Aftermarket Quality seeks a highly motivated individual to provide leadership as a quality engineer in the development and implementation of quality planning and investigation of supplier products to drive root cause and corrective action, Scrap, Rework and Repair (SRR) and customer quality escapes reduction, and product fault investigations. Assure Quality standards are implemented and adhered to throughout the product lifecycle. Candidate must be able to perform in a customer-focused work environment, maintaining effective communication with internal/external customers including the DCMA and FAA. Position requires coordination with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement on product quality issues and effective issue resolution.
Successful candidate will effectively contribute to the product center quality engineering team in support of the Daily Review Teams (DRT), Center Corrective Action Board (CCAB), High Visibility (Hi-Vis) escape management process, and data analysis to identify developing trends and maintaining product center key quality metrics. Promote continuous improvement through effective use of ACE tools such as Relentless Root Cause Analysis and DIVE to eliminate discrepancies and escapes. Implement standard work for key processes and support ACE initiatives for the Overhaul and Repair Center. Additional responsibilities include support of the Quality Clinic, Material Review Board, Quality Council as well as product safety and EH&S initiatives
Basic Qualifications Experience in Quality Engineering.
Desired skills Candidates for this position should possess strong product and process knowledge, excellent technical skills, adept with desktop PC applications and information systems, and communication and presentation skills.
Candidate must possess a high level of adaptability and have a proven ability to demonstrate focus achieving positive results. Strong process aptitude and demonstrated advocacy required. We are seeking an individual with proven technical ability and business judgment. Limited travel to domestic suppliers may be required as well as occasional overtime to support production and customer milestones.
Prior military or commercial experience in rotary wing aircraft maintenance.
