Lockheed Martin Staff System Architect in Shelton, Connecticut
Department Overview: LM RMS Analytics, Prognostics Health Management and Artificial Intelligence (APAI) team develops and applies technology, processes and expertise to aircraft data in order to drive proactive decision-making throughout the business. Data generated from on-board health usage and monitoring system (HUMS), aircraft operations, and aircraft maintenance is collected, conditioned and analyzed to identify opportunities for improvements to an aircraft’s design and supportability. The ultimate goal of the analytics team is to increase the availability of supported aircraft, reduce operational costs and to enable a strategic business shift to condition-based maintenance and optimizations.
The Systems Architect Staff develops, maintains, and enhances complex software systems (e.g., web services, databases, process-intensive analytics, manipulation of large data sets) based upon business needs. Works individually or as part of a team in an agile, fast paced environment; Develops/Resolves problem reports; Communicates with the customers and team members to gather requirements and produce outputs aligned with strategic business objectives, within schedule and budgetary constraints. Enables proactive identification of impending fleet issues, proposes solutions, validates results and monitors success.
Must have sufficient understanding of both databases and computer programming.
Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Engineering, Math/Stats or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Ability to debug software and correct defects
