Lockheed Martin Blade/Composite Inspn C in Stratford, Connecticut

Perform all required inspection operations to monitor, inspect, and evaluate manufacturing sequences involved in the production and / or development on composite components, assemblies, bonded hardware, and rotor blades.

Requires the ability to work from engineering drawings, specifications, departmental procedures, and general or written instruction directives.

Candidate must be able to perform first piece / first article verification through final inspection, including dimensional layout and testing to assure quality standards of composite airframe and blade structures, rework and repair operations.

Position requires the ability to perform mechanical / destructive tests, thickness readings using ultrasonic gages and contour inspections using T020 gages.

Duties include the performance of process audits in support of Cell Certification programs and the ability to review work instructions, detailed engineering directives an prepare inspection checklists.

Experience on non-destructive (NDI) Ultrasonic technique is required.

Position requires experience in using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gages with complete understanding of English measure graduations. (Understanding of Metric graduations desirable)

Candidate must be capable of working in an in-process inspection environment with constant communication with support department personnel.

Experience in Composite / Blade / Bonding quality control environment is preferred.

Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures.

As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.

Basic Qualifications High School graduate with a 1 to 3 years technical training in a related field

Desired skills Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and use a variety of precision measuring instruments, gauges, interpretation of drawings, engineering specifications, FAA regulations and inspection operations and procedures. Also requires trade knowledge of inspection methods metal and machining operations and adhesive bonding practices. Requires 4 years formal trades training, or equivalent. Hellier Institute (or equivalent) training required for NDI certifications per NAS410 certification. Must maintain current certification(s) as required
