Lockheed Martin College Student Tech spec in Stratford, Connecticut

Intern position available for 2018 in the Airframe Design group within Sikorsky’s Defense Common Team located at the Sikorsky Stratford CT facility. The Airframe Design group is responsible for helicopter airframe definition and integration and establishing structural configurations that meet customer requirements including Performance, Weight, Producibility and Cost. This include coordinating requirements and interfaces, developing layouts, and interpreting and applying geometric dimensioning & tolerancing. This individual will work closely with a variety of engineering disciplines in a cooperative Integrated Product Development Team environment to develop design solutions for a variety of production and customer field issues. Work activity will involve interpretation of technical publications, engineering drawings, specifications and other technical data. The job will require interface with internal customers such as Product Safety, Programs, Materials, and others as required. There will be some exposure to Sikorsky’s CAD primary system Catia V5 and associated electronic database tools.

Basic Qualifications Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited University.

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Desired skills Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills, and a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. Course work or work experience with any of the following (or similar) applications is a plus: CATIA, CADRA, UNIX.
