Lockheed Martin Core Processes Engineer - Enterprise Excellence, Sourcing - Stratford, CT in Stratford, Connecticut
The Aircraft Design and Manufacturing Engineering (ADME) Core Services Group supplements ADME’s technical expertise with best-in-class “engineering business” capabilities enabling our functional organization to excel in meeting its objectives. The Core Processes segment of ADME Core Services focuses on providing expertise in the development and management of key metrics, continuous improvement efforts, global and domestic sourcing and cost savings initiatives. The Core Processes segment also supports the other segments of Core Services as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities: 1) RPS Offload/Domestic Sourcing: • Lead offload meetings. • Manage and maintain forecast tool. • Maintain work instructions.
2) Enterprise Excellence/Continuous Improvement: • Achieve Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt certification and function as Enterprise Excellence Lead (EEL) for the Airframe Engineering work area. • Work area metric management including: Maintaining team rosters, work instructions, DIVE metrics. Run recurring monthly meetings including managing closure of all follow-up actions. • Ownership of Airframe Engineering Operating Review meeting including preparation and presentation of data followed by creation and distribution of meeting minutes. • Attend monthly Enterprise Excellence Communication meetings • Attend Enterprise Excellence Continuous Improvement Lead meetings • Support ADME EEL and Y branch EPG lead and associated initiatives • Participate in, and eventually lead, Structured Improvement Activities (SIAs) • Ensure the Airframe Engineering work area is in compliance with AS9100 requirements. • Manage Airframe Engineering Excellence Plan and drive on time completion of defined activities.
3) Global Sourcing: • Create and maintain global sourcing metrics – sourcing hours; ITC; purchase orders. • Create PMC tickets for documents needed to be sent to PZL and TTL. • Maintain PMC ticket tracker and file folders for PZL and TTL. • Develop Work Instruction/update franchise book to create tickets and capture metrics.
4) Core Processes: • Manage Airframe Engineering cost tickets including: Driving creation of new cost tickets. Conducting meetings with work area leadership to validate cost tickets Ensuring cost tickets, and associated Project Leads, are ready to present to cost council when funding is required. Ensuring cost tickets in enterprise database are maintained. POC for Cost & Productivity team • Maintain and distribute monthly ADME earned value dashboard
Basic Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate many or all of the following qualifications:
• BS in engineering • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in continuous improvement • Willingness to lead and execute complex tasks • Experience with earned value concepts and earned value practices is a plus • Experience with systems engineering processes (i.e. requirements) is a plus • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and peers • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required • Highly motivated and flexible individual with a track record of demonstrated results • Must be proficient in using MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, and MS Access • Advanced level experience in MS Access is a plus
