Lockheed Martin Engineering Project Manager in Stratford, Connecticut

Lead large Engineering Research and Development Program focused at transitioning integrated aircraft health management and advanced controls technologies from TRL 5-6 to TRL 7-8 through integration and validation testing on a flight test helicopter. Job requires both superb program management skills and a strong multi-disciplinary technical background in all phases of development engineering, i.e. design, analysis, build, test and qualification/certification. The job also includes interfacing with the Government Customer, managing numerous Suppliers, and working across multiple internal engineering functional groups, as well as Contracts, Legal, and Purchasing. Strong leadership, communication and organization skills are a must for successful program execution. As Engineering Program Manager you will be responsible for overall technical, cost and schedule performance. Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Control Account Management (CAM) is required. Experience in managing projects with multiple CAMs is a plus. Preferred candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable handling/solving problems in a dynamic R&D environment while pushing technology to the next level.

Basic Qualifications Minimum of 12 years’ experience with Aerospace Systems B.S. Engineering with a Masters in Engineering or Business EVMS and Control Account Management experience

Desired skills Project Leadership; proven track record of meeting commitments on time and budget.

People Management; successful management of a team of at least 8 direct reports.

Technical Leadership; proven leadership of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) or equivalent .

Excellent verbal and written communications skills
