Lockheed Martin Project Leader - Instrumentation & Aircraft Components in Stratford, Connecticut
The Aircraft & Project Leader is responsible for managing test aircraft configurations in support of Connecticut Ground Test statement of work. Responsibilities include prioritizing, documenting and controlling all configuration changes, maintenance or inspection requirements, technical directives compliance, parts removals/installs, and engine or sub-system modifications.
Manage Flight Test aircraft and associated components through Ground Test scope including components to be instrumented / calibrated by Stratford calibration team; Includes managing Ground Test activity at the DFC and facilitating complex calibrations in Stratford. Manage component schedule and movement from Flight Test origin (DFC) to Stratford, tracking through the enterprise including Receiving, Operations, Quality and Design Engineering. Create component forecast and provide managed, measured and predictable workflow including associated documentation through Sikorsky systems. Other responsibilities of the position include the following:
• Act as project lead on other various Ground Test initiatives as required. • Identify and implement process improvements to aircraft configuration management and maintenance tracking processes, procedures, and tools as required • Assure that technical, cost and schedule objectives are met and risks are successfully identified / mitigated. • Support FAA conformity process for civilian helicopter programs • Ensure compliance with company and department policies and procedures
Basic Qualifications Must have technical or business bachelors degree from an accredited college;.
Desired skills - Experience in flight test, aircraft maintenance management, especially rotary wing aircraft, Sikorsky operations / parts management and/or project management considered a plus - Project Management experience / training. - Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal across multiple departments Advanced degree preferred. - Must have minimum 10 years work experience - Must have good interpersonal skills. - Must be customer focused and a team player - Must be self-motivated and goal oriented - Must be able to think analytically and solve problems, - Must possess good communication skills to all levels of the organization (both written and oral), - Must be able to work in small/large teams. - Must be experienced with engineering and production management tools and configuration management - Must know Microsoft Office Suite Personal flexibility is required to potentially support unusual working hours, weekends, and travel (10%). - Experience with Solumina, Matrix One, SAP
