Lockheed Martin Senior Structural Analyst in Stratford, Connecticut
The Airframe Structural Analysis Group is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of the airframe fuselage, landing gear and propulsion installations and all other attachments to airframe fuselage, including electrical, controls and dynamic systems attachments. The Structural Analyst supports preliminary and detailed design, ground and flight test, production operations, and fielded aircraft. Primary responsibilities: Significant components of Structural Analysis projects. Mentoring junior analysts. General responsibilities: Perform static analysis margin of safety calculations. Finite element modeling using PATRAN/NASTRAN. Stress-life fatigue analysis. Documentation and review of analysis. Analysis may be for conventional metallic and composite airframe structures.. Additional responsibilities include: Preparation of statements of work for outsourced analysis. Tracking & reporting project progress to supervisor. Technical presentations to internal and external customers. Ground Test interface (load calibration & instrumentation requests). Flight Test interface (instrumentation requests & correlation to predictions). Aircraft field and shop support. Structural repair design/analysis. Participation in EE (Enterprise Excellence) continuous process improvement program

Basic Qualifications Minimum of 7+ years experience in airframe structural analysis of metallic structures (required), Working knowledge of airframe finite element modeling. FE modeling of airframe structures. Stress life fatigue analysis. Excellent written and oral communication skills (required). Proficiency in MS Office products.
BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Must be eligible for US Security Clearance
Desired skills Significant composite airframe structural analysis. Significant rotary-wing airframe structural analysis. NASTRAN/PATRAN modeling of global & local airframe structure.
Well developed technical problem solving skills to recommend next steps/make decisions. Able to work independently, guide junior analysts and manage small projects
