The selected candidate will play a key role in meeting the company objectives and establishing strategic direction in the area of Thermal Management. The Thermal Management group is responsible for the development/validation/application of aero-thermal analytical design capability across helicopter programs at Sikorsky. Areas of responsibility for the group include the development of performance specifications for design and analytical modeling to guide design/support production fleet issue resolution for aircraft engine inlet/exhausts, engine bay cooling, fire extinguishing, fuel systems, ECS systems and avionics cooling. The Chief of Thermal Management will have the primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing and managing all the activities of the Thermal Management group and supporting program requirements across Sikorsky. This will include direct responsibility for task and manpower forecast as well as strategic planning.

Candidate must have solid analytical, communication, organization, and time management skills. The candidate must possess multi-tasking abilities, have a strong customer focus, and work effectively in a time sensitive environment. Candidate should also be proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Strong communication and leadership skills required. The candidate will be managing a group of 12-14 analysts. Ability to accommodate changing priorities on a daily basis is a must. U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred qualifications include: 1.) Rotorcraft experience; 2.) Propulsion system integration experience 3) Experience in High Performance Computing and interfacing with commercial software vendors; and 4.) Experience in promoting/developing new aero-thermal analytical modeling capability adoption across the business

Basic Qualifications 1.) Broad background in aerospace engineering; 2.) Strong analytical/CFD aero-thermal modeling experience on aircraft propulsion systems – engine/APU, air-conditioning / heating, fuel systems and equipment cooling; and 3.) Demonstrated leadership skills and prior experience in leading analytical teams. Candidate must have solid analytical, communication, organization, and time management skills. The candidate must possess multi-tasking abilities, have a strong customer focus, and work effectively in a time sensitive environment. Candidate should also be proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Strong communication and leadership skills required. U.S. citizenship is required, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US DOD Security Clearance.
