Lockheed Martin Electronics Engrg Associate Manager in Sunnyvale, California
Provides leadership for the Heritage D5 and FBM Missile Test Missile Kit (TMK) and electronics engineering organization. Responsible for the selection, design, development, verification, production and flight test support of flight electronic elements. This position is badged to the Electronics Engineering Functional organization and deployed to the FBM program. Performs the duties of the Heritage D5 and FBM Missile Test Missile Kit (TMK) engineering representative for electronic elements assuring the right people, process and tools are allocated to deliver operational excellence to our customer. Serves as an independent technical advocate for Heritage D5 and FBM Missile Test Missile Kit (TMK) and is responsible for the CPE’s and resolution of technical issues to support production and the flight test program requiring resolution of Range Safety concerns. Participates and when necessary leads issue resolution assuring sound technical content and timely closure. Develops and maintains a healthy hardware Engineering organization to maximize performance in support of the program. Responsible for task assignments, supporting program managers in planning and proposal preparation, program scheduling, cost planning and cost performance against program requirements. Communicates regularly with the customer and all other segments. Leads and integrates the program hardware team's technical effort to integrate hardware into a deliverable system/segment. Approves and tracks engineering plans for all hardware. Reviews technical documentation for proposals and supplier requirements to assure thoroughness and continuity across suppliers. Integrates and manages the program engineering drawing tree and engineering release schedule. Represents hardware electronics engineering at program reviews. Responsible for achieving continuous improvement of the design process, product performance and affordability. Ensures compliance with command media and dissemination of lesson learned for mission success. Performs personnel management activities for program technical personnel and assures proper CPE and CPE delegates are in place and performing. Duties include the administrative tasks of personnel development, performance evaluation and salary administration for members of the organization. Leads technical professionals with an emphasis on personnel development through training and growth assignments. Actively engages in ethics and diversity communications and execution. Light to moderate travel may be required. BSEE in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field. TDY/travel may be required as part of the Reshaping FBM effort for 2019/2020. This position will be filled in Sunnyvale, Ca. but will be moved to Littleton, Co. in 2019/2020 and as position moves, a modest relocation stipend will be provided.
Basic Qualifications •Previous experience with space, missile or launch vehicle programs. •Experience and expertise in the areas of subsystem and flight electronics design, development, qualification, requirements and/or interfaces. •Demonstrated leadership experience (personnel, cost/schedule, subcontracts, planning). •Strong understanding (and proven experience with) Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) imperatives or similar leadership. Other leadership FSL attributes will be assessed during the selection process. •Excellent communication, presentation and people skills. Ability to multi-task in a demanding and fast-paced environment. •At a minimum a BSEE in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field is required for this position. •Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship
Desired skills Desired skills include, but are not limited to, telemetry, tracking, flight termination, and tactical avionics experience with an understanding of Range Safety Standards RCC-319 and RCC-324 in addition to demonstrated mentoring skills, LM21 Green/Black Belt certification, CAM experience, EMRB and BOE development. Previous experience as an Avionics hardware Certified Principle Engineer (CPE).
