Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer Stf in West Palm Beach, Florida
The qualified candidate will join the Palm Beach Systems Engineering team as an experienced Systems Engineer/System Architect and become a member of multi-disciplined teams engaged in the development of undersea systems. The candidate will be expected to perform technical planning, requirements development, system architecture definition/design, integration, verification and validation, risk management, and supportability and effectiveness assessments for total systems solutions of products. Analyses are performed at all levels of product development to include: concept definition (CONOPS), design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into lower-level hardware and software configuration items/specifications. Defines, tracks, and manages program risks and opportunities including risk and safety mitigation plans. Defines high-level test plans to ensure functionality, interfaces and requirements are exercised and verified in test.
Basic Qualifications Candidate must have prior, large-scale Systems Engineering experience, particularly in development of customer-driven CONOPS and specifications, requirements synthesis/decomposition/allocation, and functional and physical architecture definition. Must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate teams of technical personnel involved in the design, integration and test of products. Candidate should be comfortable dealing with all levels of staff and management. Must exhibit leadership in executing practical application of Systems Engineering processes and tools on development programs and proposals, while maintaining rigor with balancing technical, cost and schedule performance. Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance desired. BS degree from an accredited college in a related discipline to include Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering. MS degree preferred.
Desired skills Experience with manned and unmanned undersea vehicles and systems, DOORS®, demonstrated competency in applying systems engineering methodologies to system design utilizing SysML and use system modeling tools to create system definitions and architecture that have definitive traceability to the CONOPS and requirements. Experience with Rhapsody® is a plus. Practical knowledge and experience with system reliability and safety techniques and approaches. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is desired.
