Lockheed Martin Aircraft System Integration Engineer Senior Staff in Bethesda, Maryland

Description: Become part of our team as an in-country engineer for the KF-X effort. This program provides technical assistance to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to develop an advanced, multi-role fighter for the Republic of Korea Air Force. This position will be located in Sacheon, South Korea and the selected candidate will deploy from their current location in the first quarter of 2019.

Responsibilities include:

Provide technical assistance to KAI in the planning and execution of Air Vehicle Systems, Software/Hardware integration and test activities for the KF-X Air Vehicle. This position will provide advice to ensure KF-X Air Vehicle development teams have developed the required software and hardware and are executing the supporting processes to enable the performance of the requisite Integration & Testing and are producing the artifacts required for airworthiness for both flight testing and production aircraft.

• Support the development of the strategy, plan(s) and standards for integration of software with hardware Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCIs), including recommendations for integration and test across all Product Tiers Air Vehicle (AV), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Mission Systems (MS), Subsystems, etc.)

• Advise in the development of supporting processes to enable software /hardware integration and the related production of artifacts required to support airworthiness certification.

• Ensure that standard processes support Systems, Software & Hardware safety requirements for multiple standards, including MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, DO-178B/C and DO-254.

• Provide advice and review for the following Air Vehicle integration and test activities: Defining Integration and Test Work Flow, Development of Test Approach, Development of Test Procedures, Development of Safety of Flight Procedure & Test, Approval Test, Test Station, Aircraft Equipment Instructions (AEI) Development for Ground Test, and Test Tools

• Provide advice for Ground Test & Flight Test development support, including Flight Test Plans, data requirements, flight test profiles and run card Development,

In addition to strong technical skills, the candidate should have a track record of success working in diverse groups where attention to the customer is paramount. The candidate should also have a background that demonstrates effective cross-functional team building and coordination skills. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and train and mentor customer engineers. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Candidate must be able to relocate to Korea.

Basic Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college

• 7 years' experience working on a fighter aircraft platform

subsystem design to provide expert assessment of aircraft design

• Experience with leading large teams

• Experience with military or government programs

Desired Skills:

The following skills are desired:

• Experience with large-scale, real-time systems, preferable fighter aircraft applications

• Understanding requirements for planning and integration of large, real-time systems

• Intimate knowledge of airworthiness requirements for all aspects of the system/hardware/software development and test life cycle

• Knowledge of the aircraft design process

• PDR / CDR experience

• Exceptional interpersonal skills

• Experience with military or government programs

• Experience working with international customers, particularly the Korean Government or culture

• Experience with Export Control Compliance
