Lockheed Martin Analyst, Labor & Employee Relations in Bethesda, Maryland
Description: Studies, participates in the development/implementation of strategies, prepares for, and advises on matters pertaining to contract administration, contract negotiation, grievance investigation/adjudication, arbitration case preparation and support, conciliations, federal and state labor legislation, etc. Active across the enterprise, in Labor Relations and Positive Labor Relations activities in support of the business and RMS HR/LR team. Actively engaged in gaining alignment with business leadership on economic and operational matters. Assists and/or represents management in collective bargaining with Union Leaders and Local unions. Prepares briefs and conducts or participates in the conduct of presentations at hearings. Represents the company in dealings with governmental agencies involving matters pertaining to the represented work force(s) and/or matters associated with attempts at representation. Participates in informational/training programs and preparation of formal, employee materials to effect cooperation and coordination in union-employee management relations. Regularly meets with business leaders, HR, and related represented employee base. 9/80 work schedule with anticipated extended work week. 10-15% travel overnight. Increased travel as necessary to support actual contract negotiations. Multi-site/bargaining unit responsibility with range from hourly Production & Maintenance; Technical; Technicians; Design Engineering; Training/Instructors; Assist with business-area wide LR collective bargaining and LR initiatives.
0-3 years’ professional experience in Labor Relations/Collective Bargaining and Contract Administration or as HR Generalist.
Developed Employment and Labor Law background and interests.
Above average communication effectiveness with focus on legal/precise written and presentation skills.
Well-developed conflict resolution understanding/skills.
Experience with Interest-based negotiation skillsets.
Proficient with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Effective political and social acumen with leadership teams and employee interactions.
Mentoring/coaching, teaming and knowledge transfer skills.
Integrity and high credibility.
Strong analytical/analysis skills.
Previous experience in contract negotiations.
Prior experience in preparation and/or witness in 3rd party arbitration.
Prior experience performing contract costing/outcome costing.
Enriched understanding of various compensation/wage delivery ConOps.
Enriched understanding of Health; other insurances; retirement platforms
Effective writing (contract language; persuasive writing) skills.
Creativity in developing legally compliant solutions to complex challenges.
