Lockheed Martin Controller Sr Mgr in Bethesda, Maryland
Description: The Senior Manager primarily will be responsible for providing high quality technical accounting guidance and support for revenue and related transactions and assist with the preparation of the Corporation’s revenue disclosures in its Form 10-K/Qs. Other responsibilities include maintaining the Corporation’s revenue accounting policies, analyzing new accounting standards, assisting in the development of the Corporation’s positions on emerging accounting matters, delivering presentations and training to internal stakeholders, and working on other special projects. The position will report directly to the Vice President of Accounting and Assistant Controller.
Although the responsibilities are technical in nature, the Senior Manager must be comfortable in communicating and demystifying technical issues to nontechnical audiences, including those at leadership levels. The ability to build cross functional relationships and demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of the Corporation’s businesses will be paramount to his / her success.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
• CPA license.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and U.S. SEC regulations.
• Experience in performing research related to technical accounting and reporting matters and writing technical memorandums.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability (identifies problems and develop and implement solutions).
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communicator and presentation skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in teams.
Ability to prioritize tasks, assume ownership, and drive projects and issues to completion.
At least eight years of accounting and/or auditing experience at either a public accounting firm, consulting firm, or a technical accounting role for a large public entity.
Motivated and able to grow and develop in a large organization.
