Lockheed Martin Tool Attendant/Shop Chief in Bethesda, Maryland

Description: This position will support the Iraq F-16 Program.

This is a working Shop Chief position which supports the F-16 Iraq CLS in Iraq. This position reports to the Program's EMS Manager or EMS Lead and assists with day-to-day oversight and proper operations for tool crib, inventory control, customer service/support, for F-16 CLS operations in Iraq.

Duties: This position will be part of the Contracting Logistics Team (CLS) supporting the F-16 maintenance operation at Balad Air Base. Tool Shop Chief will be responsible for performing and supporting the Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU) F-16 Tool and Support Section requirements and will perform in various roles. Properly follow local processes to carry out the roles and responsibilities of the AMU tool room and support area. Job requirement include but not limited to issuing tool and test equipment, monitoring the tool calibration schedule, perform inspections on tools and test equipment (serviceability and free of foreign objects), ensuring broken tools are replaced, conducting daily inventory of the tool room assets. Responsible for setting up AMU support section to include; Pre-Existing Bins (PEB), Tail Number Bin (TNB), identifying spare location, loading assets into the tool control database, management of the spares issue, receipt, and shipment. Receives direction from the onsite Maintenance Manager. Manages the continuity plan in the event the tool control database is unavailable. Provide On-The Job training to other support personnel and/or Iraq personnel as it pertains to tool room and maintenance support operations. Operates a computer workstation and must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and inventory control systems.

Additional Requirements:

The ideal candidate must have the ability to work independently, must be a self-starter, possess leadership skills, and must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers, and senior management. Must be able to work with foreign national customers. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting.

Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing aircraft support equipment. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Team members will be confined to the base location which will be a secure compound. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and excellent people skills are a must.

Assignment location is in Iraq.

*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

*SECURITY Clearance REQUIRED. NO Clearance is Required prior to start date must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must be a high school graduate or have completed an equivalent program.

-5 years F-16 Aircraft Maintenance

- USAF 7 level

- Hands-on working experience in U.S. Air Force AFSC,

-Experience in tool room, support and supply warehouse procedures.

Desired Skills:

- Good organizational skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.


- Knowledge of TC-Max Tool accountably system.

- 2-3 years of experience as a trainer, especially of foreign military personnel preferred.

- Understanding of Support Section policy and procedures.

- Ability to speak/communicate in Arabic

-Candidate should have strong customer service skills.

-Able to effectively communicate when working with language barrier difference.

-Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines.

-Must be familiar with computerized databases, spreadsheet and computerized inventory management programs.
