We are looking for a functional manager, that is also a talented software engineer! The successful candidate will not only be an effective leader, but will also be very skilled and have a desire to continue contributing technically.
From an engineering perspective, the candidate will have recent experience as a Technical Leader and have demonstrated a high level of contribution. They'll understand the software development life-cycle and have seen requirements materialize into a successful product. The candidate will be able to quickly grasp new technology stacks to support multiple baselines, special projects, new business initiatives, and modernization efforts. If needed, they'll be able to jump into code at anytime to ensure success!
From a functional/leadership perspective, they'll be skilled at managing a moderate sized team, tracking schedules and providing EVM status to internal/external stakeholders. The candidate will also focus on ensuring a high level of morale is maintained and that meaningful career development is always a priority. Positive energy and thoughtful leadership is key!
Basic Qualifications - Technical Leadership Experience - Full Development Life-Cycle - C++ w/ strong understanding of OO Design/Principles - Understanding of Algorithms and Design Patterns - Agile Methodologies/Tools - Understanding of EVM - Development Experience on Linux - Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level clearance
Desired skills - CAM - Java/J2EE - Python, Perl - Knowledge of Test Automation Frameworks - Experience in Space Ground Systems
