This position will work on US Navy, US Air Force, US Army and MDA programs. The Design Support Specialist will be:

• Responsible for supporting various hardware engineering development programs through their design, fabrication, and test stages. This position will ultimately require the selected candidate to develop knowledge of LM-RMS policies and procedures for creating component procurement drawings, creating part masters to support the procurement of hardware components used within our designs, and generating change requests, parts list corrections, material procurement, manufacturing problem reports, etc.

• Responsible for creating and processing component drawings, Problem Reports, Change Requests, Parts Lists, test plans and procedures, and Non-Standard Parts Approval Requests (NSPAR). The candidate shall also be responsible for facilitating and expediting drawing creation, parts procurement, and equipment assembly & test. Responsible for maintaining an inventory of hardware components for various applications.

• Responsible for researching and recommending parts for design in equipment, systems, and networks for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Part types include but are not limited to: capacitors, resistors, inductors, BGAs, FPGAs, MMICs, connectors, cables, relays, switches, etc.

• Responsible for evaluating whether parts selected meet program contractual requirements and RMS standard part initiatives.

• Responsible for consideration of DMS and counterfeit issues with parts and components.

• Responsible for creating and maintaining documents using Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project).

• Responsible for collecting actual contract performance data, analyzing and reducing to metric data for input into estimates and for review by management.

• Responsible for supporting engineers, team leaders, and managers in creating and maintaining documents, databases, and schedules within the design center.

• Responsible for interfacing effectively at all LM organizational levels including hourly employees, technicians, engineers, program management, and functional management employees. Candidate must also interface effectively with external vendors and customer representatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Associate degree plus six (6) yrs experience or equivalent experience

- Ability to interpret technical artifacts and operate in an engineering environment..

- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
