Lockheed Martin Electronics Engineer II in Cape Canaveral, Florida

Description: This position is for an experienced professional supporting Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Avionics Engineering. The position will perform electronics engineering support for the Heritage D5 & D5LE products. Engineer will perform problem investigation of hardware acceptance testing at the CCA, package and system levels.

Job responsibilities will include:

- Troubleshooting (determination of root cause) of Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) failures. Generate fault trees, perform analysis and generate and execute test plans to exonerate branches of the fault tree. Act as primary petitioner to Failure Review Board to gain approval of root cause determination (including all activities required to achieve such a determination).

- Engineering role in Material Review Board (MRB). Execute analysis required to achieve MRB approval of hardware disposition determination. Track MRB and defects and drive hardware disposition activities to closure. MRB authority will be commensurate with knowledge and experience.

- Identify and implement corrective actions relative to CCA test and package failures. This includes updates to Acceptance Test Requirements (ATRs), ATPs and support equipment software and hardware design and implementation.

- Perform trend analysis of in-family data, failure data (Pareto analysis) and production defects. Propose appropriate production yield improvements accordingly.

- Extensive interaction with subcontractors

- Support facility testing schedule, which may include times outside of Monday-Friday first shift business hours

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineer, Electronics Technology and/or Master's in Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited college or in a related discipline.

Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).

Experience troubleshooting hardware using schematics, drawings or simulation tools

Experience working in team environments and must model excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Experience with failure investigations with working knowledge of root cause methodologies. (E.g., Fault tree, fishbone diagrams)

Desired Skills:

1. Analog and/or digital design, analysis and testing experience is highly desired.

2. Experience performing formal root cause analysis

3. Experience with automated test management software (Test Stand, Test Studio, or MATLAB)

4. Applicant should have some digital and analog board and box level experience.

5. Experience with Missile flight electronic components and power distribution subsystems a plus.

6. 5 years of subcontract electronic component development experience.

7. Familiar with the LMSSC CPE Program and other engineering processes and disciplines.

8. Previous experience as a CPE of analog and digital electronics is desired.

9. Experience in various phases of aerospace electronic component development cycle. Knowledge of front-end product development, including generation of requirements and interfaces, mechanical and thermal packaging, analog and digital design, and transition to production experience.

10. Applicant will be expected to be capable of understanding and evaluating information provided by the subcontractor and to make recommendation to LM FBM management based on their inputs.

11. Ability to produce and present informal al status briefings to both LM Program Management and Customer.

12.Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to subordinates, peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
