Lockheed Martin Software Engineering Manager in Cape Canaveral, Florida

Description: The successful candidate will assume a Software Engineering Associate Manager position reporting to the Senior Manager of FBM Applications & Integration Group (AIG). The candidate will be responsible for the technical, cost, and schedule execution of software development activities for simultaneous program milestones and objectives across the FBM Program. This includes coordination and communication across Lockheed Martin, External Customers, and Subcontractors on a regular basis.

The selected candidate will be engaged in FBM Program software development activities across the full software development life cycle, ensuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied on assigned projects. This position involves managing the business rhythms of the software development teams, supporting milestone reviews, identifying and mitigating/implementing risks/opportunities, performing Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities, working closely with other functional teams, and developing product line road maps.

In addition, the selected candidate will be given the opportunity to advance the state of software engineering, implementing new and modern tools and techniques. The selected candidate will work closely with the FBM AIG Senior Manager to establish engineering direction, accomplish milestones and provide leadership to the program. The candidate will also be responsible for personnel management of a software team to include performance assessment, career development guidance, program assignments, merit and salary actions, training plans, staffing and recruiting.

Experience with RDBMS and middleware environments

Experience continuous integration and delivery

FBM Program experience

Control Account Management experience; to include scheduling and resource management

Experience working with classified and controlled unclassified information

Strong communication and critical thinking skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Appropriate degree from an accredited college with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

Experience leading software development teams

Experience with supporting both software and hardware elements of a software system

Experience with product line development
