We are looking for you to join us as the Project Lead for the Extended Navy Test Bed (ENTB) MOD-2 project. ENTB MOD-2 project is part of the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Reentry Systems (RS) portfolio of products.

Our exciting team provides a flexible Reentry Body Assembly (RBA) Flight Test platform used for surveillance of existing RBA components and flight testing of modified RBA configurations for research and development purposes. The MOD-2 RBA consists of a common instrumentation and electronics capsule that seamlessly integrates into several RB aeroshells. MOD-2 is updating the existing ENTB MOD-1 design that addresses hardware obsolescence, expands surveillance capabilities and enhances experimental capabilities. The end goal: reducing lifecycle cost for the Navy customer.

The primary responsibilities include:

• Lead a small team of systems engineers responsible for completing the design of ENTB MOD-2, including verification efforts and incorporating the new design onto the FBM missile system.

• Cost, schedule and technical responsibility for the project.

• Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the group of systems engineers

• Coordinating with the other WBS elements (Flight Sciences, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Flight Test Operations, etc) that make up the ENTB MOD-2 program.

• Collaborate with Reentry and FBM leadership as well as the Navy SSP customer.

• Development and mentoring junior systems engineers and project leads.

• Occasional travel to other sites, locations

Basic Qualifications:

• Degree emphasis in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Materials Science, etc.) or relevant job experience in lieu of a degree

• Demonstrated experience as a team lead, including the development and tracking of both an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and an associated spend plan

• Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering disciplines including: requirements management and risk management

• Excellent, demonstrated communication, presentation and people skills are required as this position requires frequent briefings to senior leadership as well as the Navy customer

• Must be able to work independently and in a small team environment

• Demonstrated experience working with either co-contractors or subcontractors

• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare reports, graphs, and visual presentation aids, perform measurements, and interpret data

• Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance; US citizenship required

Desired Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with ballistic missiles and/or reentry body related engineering and science disciplines including aerodynamics, thermodynamics, structural dynamics, and/or fluid mechanics

• Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering disciplines including: system architecture development, failure/anomaly investigation, requirements development and verification, test plan/procedure development, technical decision making (i.e. trade studies), technical measurements (e.g. TPMs or KPPs), etc

• Background and experience in instrumentation, telemetry, electronics, and/or Avionics design, build and testing.

• Knowledge of and/or experience with Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Programs’ Reentry Systems’ products and performance

• Knowledge of and experience with the FBM SPALT process

• Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings is a plus
