Description: As the Inspection Engineer, you will be responsible for programming inspection equipment utilizing models, drawings and specifications. You will apply knowledge of inspection planning and techniques, statistical principals and risk-based analytics to create inspection plans that ensure accurate results and compliance to requirements while maximizing efficiency. Develop relationships with key suppliers to convey quality requirements, correlate inspection results, verify inspection techniques and define critical to manufacturing and quality characteristics. Responsible for the working condition, maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment.

The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.

Desired Skills: •AAS degree and 4 Years of Functional Experience

•Zeiss/Calypso software

•Group Lead Experience

•Model Based Engineering

•Fixture Design/Setup Reduction

•Knowledge of GMP

•Secret Security Clearance


•Operational knowledge of inspection equipment programming including but not limited to Coordinate and Optical Measurement Systems

•Ability to translate and apply advanced GD&T principles to inspection plans for precision tolerance machined alloy and fabricated electronic components

•Experience with inspection plans based on CAD/3D models, drawing and specifications

•Use of statistical analytics to maximize throughput and efficiency of inspection processes

•Knowledge of inspection technology related to: additive manufacturing, RT Scanning and Computed Image Processing

•AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements

•Apply 8D/DMAIC methodologies to determine root cause and implement appropriate corrective action to eliminate recurrence.

•Lean/Six Sigma Experience

•Ability to obtain a secret security clearance and must have at least an interim secret security clearance prior to start.
