Lockheed Martin Security Systems and Access Control Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Description: Lockheed Martin's Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides support service functions for the Office of Space Launch (OSL). This position will be resident at the Schriever AFB site and will work closely with the government and with engineering support from the PLSSS Vandenberg Air Force Base location.

The selected candidate will be a multi-faceted field engineer with the following responsibilities as directed by the local Customer:

• Monitoring and operation of access control systems, intrusion detection systems, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems and facility systems


• Local administration of security system servers, workstations, IP cameras, and Cisco switches/routers

• Make routine configuration changes and conduct audits

• Physical security inspections

• Visitor control and badging functions

• Routine and Emergency communications and response

• Security escorting

• Administration of communication security keys

• Security monitoring (operator)

• Administration of the security badging system

• Act as the local Point of Contact for technicians travelling for installation activities

• Efforts related to the installation, commissioning, validating, maintaining and repair of Security and CCTV systems, plus the associated cabling and infrastructure

• Perform minor low-voltage conduit installation (i.e. for card reader boxes, intrusion sensors, etc.).

Desired Skills: • Technical licenses or professional certifications, which could include Professional Engineer (PE), A+, Network+, MCSA, CCNA, CISSP, VMware, PMP, BICSI, NICET, iNARTE, FCC Radio License, and others.

• Demonstrated experience with installation and configuration of IP networks, CCTV systems, Windows client/server, VMware virtual environment, Cisco networking, and electronic security systems.

• Ability to read, understand and interpret statements of work, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.


• Knowledge of telecommunications, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, and data processing equipment

• Able to monitor computer video displays and audible alarms, provide system status to stakeholders, respond to facilities concerns, document actions taken / directions given, and perform a variety of tasks in accordance with established written procedures and verbal instructions.

• Ability to read, understand and interpret statements of work, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

• Must be familiar with Windows-based computer operations

• Ability to use shop mathematics, including algebra and trigonometry.

• Able to work all shifts and extended shifts in a 24/7 operations environment

• Able to sit or stand for periods of time, climb stairs/ladders, and lift packages

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

• Must have ability to work at various heights on gantries, towers and poles, and be able to work in confined areas.

• Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to perform work described herein.

• Must be willing to travel

• Must hold a Security+ or higher Certification

• Must be a United States citizen and have a US Passport

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
