Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer in Eglin Air Force Base, Florida
Description: This is an opportunity to work on the Labs and Tech Services (L&TS) System Engineering team. L&TS a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive collection of systems integration and test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, Reprogramming Laboratories, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues.
This is a System Engineering position to work on the F-35 USRL (United States Reprogramming Lab) Project located at Eglin Air Force Base, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform as a member of the USRL System Engineering team in performing system integration, anomaly resolution, and verification activities that are necessary to successfully maintain the USRL technical capabilities to support customers.
The system integration activities include providing technical expertise for: System Update Integration execution, participation in System Requirements Reviews, participant in Supplier Technical Reviews, System Configuration Management Controls, System Requirements Verification, System Performance Validation, and onsite installation, setup and acceptance testing of the USRL system upgrades.
This position will require close coordination with USRL Project and Technical Leadership, plus proactive engagement with L&TS simulation software, subsystem procurement, hardware development teams, and other teams both inside and outside LM Aeronautics, to ensure an effective system engineering communication interface is maintained across the different USRL subsystems development teams.
This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires a Secret security clearance to start, with a current background investigation.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience in performing system engineering tasks such as: requirements development, system design development, system integration and verification.
Degrees preferred: Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science or related degree
SCS and JADE experience highly desired
F35 test lab experience highly desired
Experience in one or more of the following: aerospace, aviation, avionics, simulation, system integration.
Knowledgeable using the following Tools DOORS, MatLab, SysML
Experience working in a Laboratory environment
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Completed system security certification training courses
Candidate has familiarity with F-35 Mission Systems Architecture and subsystems, DOORS requirements management tool, and system performance analysis and validation. Has a demonstrated software or hardware development experience.
