Lockheed Martin Project Engineer Staff - Special Operations Forces in Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Project Engineer Staff to support our SOF GLSS contract. Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the Special Operations Forces community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment.

The candidate will be responsible for leading a multi-discipline engineering team in developing fast paced proposals and modification efforts on a variety of fixed wing aircraft. The candidate ensures that the program's technical resource needs are met and coordinates manpower work shares with other groups. The candidate works with the team to develop a detailed Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

for the engineering portion of the effort which is used throughout the lifecycle of the contract. The candidate ensures approval/sign-offs for all engineering proposals and that the requirements reach a strong baseline, become fully documented, can be traced, maintained and adequately verified. The candidate will act as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the engineering schedule and budget of each assigned program.

Position may be filled in either Lexington, KY or Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Basic Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in driving complex issues or problems to successful closure

Strong problem solving, root cause, corrective action, and closure skills

Ability to lead discussions that drive toward resolution to problems

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customer,

accept responsibility, accountability and exercise authority to ensure cost, schedule, and technical success of an engineering effort

Support internal and external customer audits on program performance in accordance with AS9100 or similar standard

Proven communication skills

Proven ability to collaborate with Program Management, Customers, and other matrix organizations involved in program execution

Experience with inputs to or ownership of requirements development and maintenance

Desired Skills:

Proven track record as Control Account Manager (CAM) and Project Engineer

Previous Proposal & Basis of Estimate (BOE) experience

Risk and Opportunity Management input and maintenance experience

Experience leading modification designs for C-130 or other similar military type aircraft

Active DoD secret level clearance
