Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Engineer Senior in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: This position is for a Structural Design, Tools and Methods CAD/CAM/CAE Automation Engineer. The selected candidate will lead activities to develop design-automation solutions for Aircraft Structural and System Design problems as part of the Aero Digital Transformation organization. Perform capability validation of tool and process requirements and integrate next generation CAD/CAM/CAE tools and processes. Coordinate development and integration across a wide range of functional organizations including Airframe and Systems Design, Structural and Thermal Analysis, Systems Analysis, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Planning, Tooling, Materials & Processes, Flight Sciences, Systems Testing. Facilitate discussions and dissemination of technical decisions and pertinent information.

Developing, testing and validating design methodologies and automation techniques for airframe structural design.

Creating parametric design techniques that enable downstream automation and model-based consumption across multiple disciplines that include structural/thermal analysis, subsystems analyses (fuel, hydraulics, power thermal management), cost and manufacturing

Coordinating with stakeholders, developing video-based training media and disseminate new design technologies to Advanced Development Programs.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and will require a Secret clearance after starting.

Basic Qualifications:

Airframe composite and/or metallics structural Design Experience using with CATIA, 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.

Experience creating or modifying 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work.

Experience developing CAD-based design automation solutions using CATIA V5 or similar, NX, or Creo.

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline

Desired Skills:

Design automation experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Python, VBA, Java, C++, or Matlab

Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Enovia, Windchill

Experience with Aircraft/Air Vehicle engineering design requirements, product definition release and change processes

Experience with subsystem design

Experience with hand stress analysis for preliminary sizing

1000 hours experience with CATIA V5

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
