Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Engineer Sr Stf in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: The Skunk Works is looking for a mechanical designer to lead the design and development of advanced and novel ejection racks, weapon carriage, and release hardware as well as weapon bay doors and associated actuation hardware for advanced platforms. This assignment entails the full spectrum from research and development of novel concepts to integration of final concepts on advanced platforms. Tasking will include hands on design work, management and coordination of work with equipment vendors, and presentation and coordination with government customers and partners under the general direction of technology roadmap and program leadership.

This assignment involves independent tasking as part of a lean technical team – personal initiative, original and creative problem solving, and the ability to work independently and with little oversight are a must.

The successful applicant should have excellent CAD/CATIA skills, experience with mechanical design of actuated aircraft mechanisms, and experience working with mechanical subsystem vendors.

Frequent, short, domestic travel can be expected. The applicant will need to pass a program access security background check.

Experience or familiarity with weapon carriage and release hardware is a strong plus.

Basic Qualifications:

-Proficiency with CATIA

-Design experience with actuated mechanisms on aircraft

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Active SECRET clearance

Desired Skills:

-Experience coordinating and working cooperatively with mechanical subsystem vendors

-Experience presenting to and working with government customers

-Experience with weapon carriage and release equipment design and development

-5 year update on clearance
