Lockheed Martin Database Engineer Staff - Oracle DBA in Fort Worth, Texas

This Enterprise Business Services (EBS) technical position plans and executes Oracle database support efforts for Lockheed Martin's Aero database systems.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: - analysis of requirements - designing/developing database management solutions - commissioning and installing new applications - installing and testing new versions of the DBMS - monitoring performance and managing parameters - configuration management - controlling access permissions and privileges - ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly - developing, managing, and testing back-up and recovery plans - capacity planning - collaborating with IT project managers, database engineers and application programmers - communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff - composing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata) - Working independently with little or no guidance - Travel (minimal) in support of the project as required - Support an on call rotation as required


Basic Qualifications Experience as an Oracle DBA/DB Engineer: - Oracle 11g & 12c database design, development and administration in Linux, UNIX and/or MS Windows environments - Oracle planning resources, database upgrades, backup & recovery, implementations, and environment transitions (development, test, stage, and production) - Oracle database loading, development and management of operational procedures, environment management and database health (including database tuning and/or performance monitoring) - Database security processes and implementation; Oracle security patching - Database administration scripting - Technical and analytical problem solving skills

Support flexible work schedules to include periodic off hours, weekend work, and on-call

US Citizenship required

Desired skills - Oracle Enterprise Mgr (OEM) use and administration - Oracle High Availability/RAC setup, configuration and administration - SQL Server administration (2008 and newer) - Project planning and scheduling - SQL and PL/SQL Programming - Budget and schedule management - Testing and documenting work performed - Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills - Work effectively with all levels of management and customers - Juggle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines in a dynamic fast-paced environment - Occasional travel in support of the project
