Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 52 Aircraft Avionics Field Service Engineer in Fort Worth, Texas
Description: This is an unaccompanied assignment. This is a Field Service assignment for an F-16 Aircraft Avionics Field Service Engineer (FSE) Lead to reside and work at Balad Air Base, Iraq for a minimum of one year. The FSE will support the Iraq Air Force F-16, Block 52 aircraft. This assignment is to provide on-site advice, liaison and informal training in the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and systems related to the F-16. The objective of Contractor Engineering and Technical Services (CETS) is to elevate the technical skills and abilities of the personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of this equipment/systems to a level of self-sufficiency. Specific tasks include but are not limited to the following: Provide on-site/on-equipment informal unit training to the component personnel on installation, maintenance and operating techniques pertaining to the adjustment, calibration, trouble-shooting, bench check, routine maintenance, inspection and repair of the prime equipment/system. Provide advice in the identification of and instruction on the use of special tools, handling equipment, aerospace ground equipment (AGE) and test equipment associated with and related to F-16 aircraft Avionics systems. Provide proficiency training on the use and interpretation of F-16 Technical Orders. These Technical Orders will be provided by the country in accordance with T.O. 00-5-19. Emphasize safety precautions to be taken in all training provided. Demonstrate best methods of installing modifications and retrofit kits related to F-16 systems. Render technical advice to resolve difficult and unusual maintenance problems. Provide consistent analysis of maintenance difficulties and advice on establishment of maintenance, inspection and training programs designed to improve the quality of maintenance, recommending changes as applicable. Provide liaison through which information related to maintenance and operational problems, available in the manufacturer's plant can be quickly disseminated to operations and maintenance personnel. Provide advice, as required, to assist in accident investigation and preparing failure data reports and unsatisfactory reports.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Selected candidate must pass an overseas physical examination.
- Minimum of 8 years experience with F-16 General Aircraft, F-16 Avionics Systems.
- Familiar with US Air Force (USAF) Maintenance Procedures at the Organization and Intermediate Levels.
- Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to deployment
- Must pass overseas physical examination prior to deployment
- Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college
- Experience with F-16 Avionics and Weapons Systems
- Experience with F-16 Block 52
- Good Communication Skills, Oral and Written
- Good Organization Skill.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Powerpoint, Excel.
