Description: The Labs & Technical Services (L&TS) Conceptual Sims Software team is looking for a software engineer to support the design, development, integration, test and deployment of the software products developed for the Rapid Prototyping Development Simulation (RPDS) project. The technical emphasis of this position focuses on delivering Man-in-the-Loop simulation systems which include low-to-medium fidelity models and Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI) capabilities to support the F-35, ADP and IFG Lines of Business.
Successful candidate will provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity with a broad range of responsibilities to include simulation software requirements, design, development, integration, and verification.
This position offers the opportunity to travel within the United States and internationally. There are times where you may need to work a flexible schedule to support lab development and integration activities to meet program needs.
Labs & Technical Services (L&TS) is a highly innovative organization, responsible for developing and maintaining manned aircraft weapon simulation systems utilized for weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive selection of simulators and software/systems integration test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues. Our products are used to advance weapon systems development, strengthen pilot familiarization, assess human factors, evaluate aircraft control laws, improve mission study effectiveness, provide test capabilities required for contract verification and provide integration testing and verification capabilities for aircraft systems and software.
This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and will require a Secret security clearance.
2+ years of experience in C++ programming and Object-Oriented Design techniques.
Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM discipline.
Domain knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following:
- Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI)
- Sensors (CNI, INS, GPS, Radar, EOTS, DAS)
F-35 domain knowledge and/or experience in developing simulation software for one or more of the above are highly desired.
- Agile/Scrum development methodology
- Integrated development environments (Eclipse, Visual Studio, etc)
- OpenGL or other graphics development libraries
- Linux operating systems
