Description: The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program) is looking for world class talent in Open System Architecture & Mission Systems Software Leadership to be a part of a team that carries on our 70 year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development.
This position is with the Mission Systems Roadmaps organization in Fort Worth, TX. This position provides an exciting opportunity in an organization focused on developing and maturing Open System Architecture technologies to include mission processing, middleware, mission software applications, mission planning, autonomy, and Systems of Systems engineering. The Open System Architecture portfolio includes internal and contract funded research and development projects focused on maturation of technology for transition to Lockheed Martin’s enterprise programs.
The candidate will be responsible for Project Management (PM) functions on one or more Internal and Contract Research and Development Projects within the Open System Architecture Roadmap organization. Candidate PM responsibilities will include Cost Account Management (CAM), schedule/plan development, customer interface, monthly status reporting, and new business proposal support. Technical leadership responsibilities will span the technology development lifecycle, including oversight of requirements generation, system and software design, ICD development, architecture, and implementation. Responsibilities may span multiple domains, to include UAV ground station development, pre-mission planning, on-board mission services technologies, and core mission processing.
The successful candidate will work in a high-performing multi-site, multi-program team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will use their effective communication skills as the position will require frequent inter-organizational and outside customer interactions. The selected candidate will be required to travel on average, once a month, for team interaction and integration and test activities is required.
Technical leadership experience is required. Experience with Agile processes and tools, modular open systems architectures, and open standards is highly desired. Experience with the Open Mission Systems (OMS) standard and the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) message set is also highly desired. The candidate will communicate effectively by providing management with status of key issues that drive schedule, cost or technical impacts for new development and sustainment programs. Previous program management experience executing highly dynamic projects within short timelines while meeting/exceeding earned value objectives is desired. Experience with battle management and autonomy software as applied to pre-mission planning, ground based and embedded systems is highly desired. In addition, recent work experience with embedded architectures, single board computers, hardware and software in the loop implementation and testing, and Mission Systems Software is a plus.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Candidates must possess an active DoD Secret clearance to start, and have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SAP/SAR.

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technical field.
Experience in Project Management and technical leadership.
Experience with Cost Account Management, Schedule development, and status reporting.
Technical background in systems engineering, system architectures, software development, or related field.
Presentation skills conveying focused messages to internal senior leadership and external customers.
Experience building customer relationships and working/shaping proposal activities
Must be a US Citizen, and have a current Final Secret Clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Experience with Agile processes and tools

Knowledge of XML, UML, SysML, Rhapsody, and DOORS.
Previous Software development experience.
Previous integration and test experience with large complex software systems.
Experience working ADP or similar programs along with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated success shaping and leading a team in a dynamic business environment.
Demonstrated strong skills in conflict resolution, proactive communication, building collaborative relationships.
