Lockheed Martin Quality Engineer in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: This position will report to the Supplier Quality Management team with the responsibility of improving material availability within the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics supply base. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment to engage with defense contractors regarding their impact on Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. The successful candidate will aggregate performance data across various operating sites of the contractors to ensure a comprehensive data set regarding the contractors’ business with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. The candidate will collaborate to implement risk reduction methods, corrective and preventive actions, and performance improvement strategies to ensure positive outcomes are realized. Collaboration with Supplier Quality Engineers, Subcontract Managers, Technical Subcontract Managers, and the Integrated Product Team will be required to maintain visibility to the contractors’ Quality performance and delivery performance. The position will also require monitoring of at-large industry trends to identify possible improvements to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ supply base. The ideal candidate will have both a technical background as well as a solid business acumen.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Experienced in supply chain competencies and strategies.

Firm understanding of AS9100, AS9145 (PPAP/APQP), zero defect plan development.

Skilled in the tools of root cause analysis and corrective action.

Desired Skills:

Previous experience in a consultant/advisor role to company executives.

Experienced in manufacturing process validation methods.

Understanding of the total life cycle from product requirements definition through manufacture and delivery.

Understanding of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma's methods.

Leadership experience.

Excellent verbal and written skills.
