Lockheed Martin Simulation Software Engineer in Fort Worth, Texas
Description: Labs & Technical Services (L&TS) is seeking a self-motivated software engineer with experience in building real-time simulation software applications, tool development, and supporting software development environments.
This position is for a Software Engineer to perform software development on the F-35 SILs and ADP team. The team builds various F-35 hardware-in-the-loop simulation products which combines simulation executive software, middleware, third-party vendor models, internally developed models, and tools.
The initial assignment entails developing and integrating real-time simulation software applications for the F-35 SILs and ADP team. Software development duties are likely to change over time. Assignments may change over time as required by the organization.
Labs & Technical Services is a highly innovative organization, responsible for developing and maintaining manned aircraft weapon simulation systems utilized for weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within SimSIL resides an extensive selection of simulators and software/systems integration test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues. Our products are used to advance weapon systems development, strengthen pilot familiarization, assess human factors, evaluate aircraft control laws, improve mission study effectiveness, provide test capabilities required for contract verification and provide integration testing and verification capabilities for aircraft systems and software.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and an interim Secret security clearance to start. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided.
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
Experience in C++ or Java programming languages.
F-35 domain knowledge and/or software development experience in one or more of the following:
- Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI)
- Sensors (CNI, INS, GPS, Radar, EOTS, DAS)
Developing simulation software for one or more of the above is highly desired.
- Software development on Linux Operating Systems.
- Object Oriented Analysis/Design and Understanding of object-oriented (OO) software design concepts.
- Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Rhapsody, and Eclipse
- OpenGL or other graphics development libraries
- Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Design Patterns
- Multi-threaded programming
- Test driven development and refactoring
- Databases with SQL, MYSQL, MariaDB
- Embedded real time software development
- Coding with Python
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance with investigation within last 5 years is highly desired.
