Lockheed Martin Service Mechanic Associate (Entry level) in Georgia
Description: Assist higher level personnel in tasks associated with
maintenance and repair of Support Equipment (SE)
and in making major repairs to containers.
Assist in setup and operation of basic sheet metal
fabricating equipment such as saws, brakes, shears
and rolls to fabricate sheet metal parts, perform hand
forming and minor repairs. Set up and operate basic
wood working equipment such as saws, sanders,
joiner/planers; perform rough carpentry to build
pallets, wood containers and similar items. May also
assist in welding operations.
Assist in performing routine electrical fabrication,
testing and repair such as fabrication and repair of
electrical extension cords, checking and repairing
grounding systems, repair of SE cables including
May operate moving equipment such as forklifts,
power trucks, pickup trucks, overhead cranes. Assist
in performing routine testing and/or checking
requiring non-destructive test methods, precision
measuring instruments and electrical measuring
May perform painting and stenciling of surface support
equipment and missile hardware using spray
equipment and/or brushes.
Perform record keeping associated with inventory and
control of shop, PAD and SPALT materials.
Assist in weight testing program. Assist in repair of
May work with, or assist, employees in other fields of
specialization when so assigned.
Assist in performing media blast and painting
operations supporting Support Equipment fabrication,
alteration, and refurbishment.
Utilize the various computer systems to perform
1 year experience in directly related work or satisfactory completion of basic courses in metal and woodworking/carpentry and one year of experience in related manufacturing work.
Must be a United States citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret
security clearance.Must pass pre-employment physical
Must be able to read and follow maintenance
procedures, repair documentation, and shop
Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
Must be able and willing to work outdoors occasionally
during periods of hot and cold weather.
Must be able to climb stairs or ladders to work up to a
height of approximately 45 feet above ground.
Must be able and willing to work during extended
periods of standing, sitting, stooping, and working in
confined spaces as required by the tasks performed.
Must be able to obtain and maintain crane operator’s
license and forklift operator’s license.
Must be willing to work shift work and overtime,
including weekends, if necessary.
Must be willing to work with hazardous materials and
around explosives as required.
Must be able and willing to wear respirators and self
contained breathing apparatus for extended periods of

Experience using power tools.
Experience using hand tools.
Spray Painting experience.
Experience operating a forklift.
Experience operating an overhead crane.
Experience working with sheet metal.
Experience working with hydraulics.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical
