Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Grand Prairie, Texas
Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to lead the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Production Engineering Proposal team. The position will lead a growing team of manufacturing engineers whose responsibilities include writing Manufacturing Engineering Statements of Work (MESOW), owning the Program Make or Buy Plans, conducting trade studies, creating and maintaining breakpoint tables in SAP, preparing labor and travel estimates and any other special project that may impact Production Operations. The team must develop good communication and collaborate with people located across the United States including other Manufacturing Engineers and other functions like Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Industrial Engineers, Production Planning and Control, Contracts, Program Management etc. The engineers on this team are on rotational assignments so it will be imperative that the manager be able to maintain consistency in training as people rotate in and out of the group so that the quality of our proposals does not suffer.
In addition to leading the team this position will need to drive process improvement initiatives at the program level, foster a culture of teaching, advocate for the manufacturing sites, review every proposal for accuracy and be the voice of manufacturing engineering to each Program Proposal Team. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are a must as well as experience in many of the tasks the team performs. Experience building positive relationships, communicating across functional and physical boundaries and improving processes is required.
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Experience leading teams of Manufacturing Engineers on Army programs
Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Ability to travel domestic and/or international
Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality and/or safety
Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and developing enduring business relationships
Hands on experience working on the manufacturing shop floor
Experience in government proposals including generating estimates for labor, travel, tooling, capital etc.
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
