Description: Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced Mechanical Product Design Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie to support and provide leadership to the development efforts associated with a missile and modular pod. This includes performance and oversight of the Mechanical Engineering efforts associated with the detail design, analysis, procurement and testing of the deliverable hardware for the current phase of the program. The candidate must have extensive experience with the design process, including 3D parametric modeling, and creation/knowledge of production level 2D drawings. The candidate must demonstrate highly innovative approaches to the conceptual design of hardware components, systems, and subsystems, resolution of complex design issues, producibility, and affordability.

Other notable tasks will include:

Development of 3D drawing models and creation/release of 2D engineering drawings using 3D CAD Software

Interface development and generation of Instructional Engineering Release (IER) documents.

Understanding of the 3D model / 2D drawing release process and data management

Performance of Trade Studies

Performance of Tolerance Analysis (GD&T and Tolerance Stacks Analysis).

Customer requirements derivation / decomposition.

-Specification development / creation to suppliers for procured components

Collaborate / Coordinate with other Mechanical Engineering (Structures, Thermal and M&P) and technical disciplines (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Logistics & Sustainment Engineering), Procurement (Materials and Subcontract Management), Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and program suppliers

Vendor / supplier coordination and technical oversight

Perform engineering liaison activities during hardware fabrication / procurement

Perform Lead / Responsible Engineer duties required by the efforts

Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior grade staff

Travel to support and provide technical assistance to existing / new suppliers, and to support hardware fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing in CAMDEN, Arkansas

MFCE&T

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an engineering related field

Candidate must have at least 9 years of professional / hands-on experience

Technical Leadership experience and capabilities to provide oversight to staff and suppliers

Must have the ability to travel (approximately 10%) as it may be required to support the hardware fabrication / integration activities in Camden, Arkansas

The candidate shall have Mechanical Design skills in the following areas:

3D parametric modeling

Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and version Y14.5 and 2009 are a plus, and Tolerance Stacks Analysis

Detail, assembly and installation type 2D drawings

Knowledge of mechanical drawing standards

Trade Studies & Materials Analysis

Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes

Affordability and Cost Optimization

Proposal process and Mechanical Engineering effort estimating

Desired Skills:

Computer Aided Design skills using PTC CREO-3 Software

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Knowledge of data management tools WindChill and Agile PLM

Experience in missile, container, and launcher platform design

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic, inclusive, team environment
