Description: -Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced Mechanical Product Design Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie to support initiatives within the Applied Research Program Area.
-The Mechanical Product Design Engineer will support the design, development, procurement, and integration of components for a Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) system. This is New Design activity that will also require familiarity with rapid prototyping in both Additive and traditional manufacturing techniques, and Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) shielding knowledge for electrical harnesses / components.
-Tasks will include layout, packaging, conceptual and detail structural design of hardware system and subsystem components.
Other notable tasks will include:
-Development of 3D drawing models and creation/release of 2D engineering drawings using 3D CAD Software, SolidWorks
-Interface development and generation of Instructional Engineering Release (IER) documents.
-Performance of Trade Studies and Tolerance Analysis.
-Requirements derivation / decomposition.
-Specification development / creation to suppliers for procured components
-Collaborate / Coordinate with other Mechanical Engineering (Structures, Thermal and M&P) and technical disciplines (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Logistics & Sustainment Engineering), Procurement (Materials and Subcontract Management), Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and potential suppliers / vendors

Desired Skills: -Computer Aided Design skills using SolidWorks Software.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
-Active Secret Clearance with an with an investigation within the last 5 years.
-Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.
-Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
-Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years professional experience.
-Must have strong conceptual and detailed design skills using SolidWorks as a 3D Modeling software.
-Knowledge of mechanical drawing standards.
-Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
-Experience with detail, assembly, and installation type drawings.
-Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Strong organizational skills
-Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, capable of working in an inclusive, team environment.
