Lockheed Martin Senior Mechanical Design Engineer / Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced Mechanical Product Design Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie to support a MLRS Family of Munitions (MFOM) Launchers Program initiative.

A candidate is needed to execute in both a Mechanical Design Engineer and Lead role in support of the Full Rate Production (FRP) Program for the M142 HIMARS.

The candidate will work in a Production Program environment and potentially provide oversight to a small engineering team performing Engineering Liaison and Material Review Board (MRB) activities associated with the hardware.

Other notable tasks include:

-Development of 3D drawing models and creation/release of 2D engineering drawings using a 3D CAD Software tool PTC CREO-3

-Interface development and generation of Instructional Engineering Release (IER) documents

-Performance of Tolerance Analysis (GD&T and Tolerance Stacks Analysis)

-Customer requirements derivation / decomposition

-Collaborate / Coordinate with other Mechanical Engineering (Structures, Thermal and M&P) and technical disciplines (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Product Support), Procurement (Materials and Subcontract Management), Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and product line suppliers / vendors

-Vendor / supplier coordination and technical oversight

-Perform engineering liaison activities during hardware fabrication / procurement.

-Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to early career staff

-Travel to support and provide technical assistance to existing / new suppliers, and to support hardware fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing in CAMDEN, Arkansas.

Basic Qualifications:

-Candidate must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an engineering related field.

-Candidate must have at least 5 years of professional / hands-on experience

-Technical sub-lead experience and capabilities to provide oversight to staff

-Must have the ability to travel (approximately 10%) as it may be required to support the hardware fabrication / integration activities in Camden, Arkansas.

The candidate shall have Mechanical Design skills in the following areas:

-3D parametric modeling using PTC CREO-3

-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Tolerance Stack Analysis

-Detail, assembly and installation type 2D drawings

-Knowledge of 2D drawing standards

-Trade Studies & Materials Analysis

-Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes.

-Strong oral and written communication skills.

-Strong leadership and organizational skills.

-The candidate should have experience with Material Review Board (MRB) type experience, where disposition of discrepancy reports will be required by engineering.

-Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, capable of working in an inclusive, team environment.

Desired Skills:

-Computer Aided Design skills using PTC CREO-3 Software.

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

-Knowledge of Agile PLM (for 2D drawing release)

-Experience in ground vehicle design, military vehicles / platforms, automotive systems
