Description: -Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced Mechanical Product Design Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie to support a new Integrated Air Missile Defense (IAMD) Line of Business (LOB) Development Program.
-The Mechanical Product Design Engineer will support New Design activity associated with a new IAMD program initiative that will include design, fabrication, integration, and testing.
-Tasks will include layout, packaging, conceptual and detail structural design of hardware system and subsystem components.
-The product scope of this activity includes support to the design, procurement, and testing of hardware, systems, and subsystems.
Other notable tasks will include:
-Development of 3D drawing models and creation/release of 2D engineering drawings using 3D CAD Software, Pro/Engineer (CREO-3)
-Interface development and generation of Instructional Engineering Release (IER) documents.
-Performance of Design Trade Studies, Material Trades, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Tolerance Analysis.
-Requirements derivation / decomposition.
-Specification development / creation to suppliers for procured components
-Supplier technical oversight, guidance and management
-Collaborate / Coordinate with other Mechanical Engineering (Structures, Thermal and M&P) and technical disciplines (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Logistics & Sustainment Engineering), Procurement (Materials and Subcontract Management), Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and potential suppliers / vendors
-Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position.
-Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas.
-Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth.
-The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate.
-The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth.
-These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
-Must be a US Citizen and possess an Active Department of Defense Secret clearance with an investigation (or re-investigation) within the past 5 years.
-Must have 5+ years of professional experience using either PTC CREO or Solidworks.
-Knowledge of mechanical drawing standards.
-Experience with GD&T and Statistical Tolerance Analysis
-Experience with detail, assembly, and installation type drawings.
-Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Strong organizational skills
-Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, capable of working in an inclusive, team environment.
-Computer Aided Design skills using PRO Engineer CREO-3 Software.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
-Active Secret Clearance with an with an investigation within the last 5 years.
