Description: Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Testability (RAM-T) Engineer to work in Grand Prairie, TX. The primary job responsibility will be to prepare and deliver presentations and participate in reliability review meetings, system design meetings, program engineering review and change board meetings; Review and provide input to Systems Engineering, Design and Software documentation consistent with project phase to include requirements development, design, development, verification, test methods and performance verification; Reviews specifications, technical documentation, and changes to those documents for impacts to reliability. The results of these analyses will be documented in technical reports. Candidate will spend majority of time working in a team environment, providing inputs to the hardware, software and systems engineers, supporting meetings, performing analyses, and writing reports. Duties include:
Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs.
Interact with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, program managers and customers during the investigation, documentation and resolution of system failures.
Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives.
May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks.
As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.
Applies knowledge and experience with statistical concepts and analysis to assess program performance.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
Develop reliability analyses (e.g. reliability predictions, FMECAs, Fault Tree), review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), and perform formal whitepaper/failure reporting writing.
Develop reliability program growth plans, and conduct reliability growth analysis.
Support to program Engineering Concept Screening Board (CSB), Engineering Configuration Change Board (CCB), Corrective Action Board (CAB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB), as required.
Recognize opportunities for improvement based on failure data and support development and implementation of system design improvements.
Identify Failure Review and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) trends to identify and prioritize failure modes to investigate for corrective actions.
Plans, hosts and supports Reliability Scoring Conferences to validate the system’s design to meet requirements.
Support design reviews and test activities, as required.
Support subcontractor evaluation, selection and coordination activities with regard to reliability. There may be some travel.
Electrical Engineering degree.
Strong electrical background with a good mechanical understanding.
Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
Diagnostic algorithm development – diagnostic tests/procedures to perform fault detection and fault isolation.
Software skills – Ability to read code and design requirements for software engineers to write BIT tests.
Ability to teach others BIT/testability.
Practical hands on experience with hardware test and troubleshooting.
Sneak Circuit Analysis knowledge.
Safety engineering knowledge.
Human Factors Engineering knowledge.
Familiarity and ability to model systems with US Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity (AMSAA) Reliability Growth Planning Models (PM2-Continuous and PM2-Discrete), Reliability Growth Tracking Model (RGTM-C), Reliability Growth Projection Models (ACPM, AMPM, and ADPM), and Reliability Test Planning Tools (IPT-C and IPT-D).

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. Active Secret Security Clearance.
Strong technical background. Knowledge of Reliability Engineering design practices.
Experience conducting Reliability efforts and testing and verification to include experience with performing reliability predictions, FMECA (failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis), and fault tree analysis.
Experience with Windchill Quality Solutions Reliability software tool or equivalent tool.
Experience with reliability program growth plans, and reliability growth analysis/growth curves.
Experience in Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) testing development and conduct.
Experience with RAM Scoring.
Experience with reliability FRACAS (failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system) and data mining.
Knowledge and experience with statistical concepts and analysis.
Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings/schematics.
Maintainability and Testability/Built-In-Test (BIT) engineering experience.
Ability to manage subcontractors in reliability field of expertise.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups.
Ability to communicate findings to customers and management.
Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with very little or no direction; interacts well with others.
Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.
Experience working in a matrix organization; ability to work with cross functional teams.
Ability to review presentations, emails, white papers, trade studies, and reports for content and accuracy.
