Lockheed Martin Staff Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer (QE) / Aerospace / Manufacturing Processes in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer for a position based in Grand Prairie, TX. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day tracking of program Quality estimates for proposals, attending program proposal meetings, pulling and analyzing past program actuals, preparing estimates, assigning estimates to others, and organizing and leading peer reviews of estimates. The position requires quality engineering experience developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products. Responsibilities include:

Develop and teach proposal training to other program quality engineers. Mentor less experienced proposal preparers.

Develop common proposal and estimating processes.

Ensure day-to-day tracking of program Quality estimates for proposals and attend program proposal meetings.

Pull and analyze past program actuals for use in preparing estimates.

Assign estimates to others.

Organize and lead peer reviews of estimates.

Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.

Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.

Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.

Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.

Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.

Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience with a bachelors degree

Effective oral and written communication skills will be required to manage across multiple leadership levels as well as various functional and customer levels.

Proposal Experience

Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products

Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and able to translate into work instruction.

Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics.

Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques.

Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement.

Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Ability to travel

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired Skills:

Engineering degree

Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.

ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and / or CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate)

Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance

Advanced AS9100 Interpretation and application experience.

Experience as a Control Account Manager and knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems

Experience working with Government customers

Effective Communication Skills: Written, Oral, Listening, Technical Writing.

Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration

Strong knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems such as International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulations

Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex.
