Lockheed Martin Software Engineering Associate Manager in Herndon, Virginia

Description: The candidate selected will be responsible for the management and technical leadership of 8-12 software development and engineering staff members who support the P704 Program. In addition to management responsibilities, the candidate will have a technical role supporting software development projects that are in the Development and/or Operations and Maintenance (O&M) phases. Position responsibilities include: managing day to day activities; managing detailed planning and coordination for future capabilities; providing cost and impacts for engineering change proposals and system change requests; ensuring software products comply with program requirements; providing status briefings to P704 senior leadership and the customer community; and serving as a CAM (Cost Account Manager). Candidate must have demonstrated, verifiable experience in software and systems engineering as well as the ability to properly prioritize, status, and work multiple tasks. Candidate should be well-experienced with Software Development and Maintenance of highly reliable, operations grade software using Visual Studio (Microsoft Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#) and Microsoft SQL Server on the Windows Platform. Candidate should have significant experience in several of the following disciplines: Software engineering, Requirements Definition, Client server architectures, Database design, Design of test scenarios, Design of high reliability software systems, Database access using SQL, and Customer Interfacing. Candidate must be well-experienced with the software development lifecycle, have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to interface with customer, system integrator and segment representatives. Candidate selected will be expected to identify staffing needs, write requisitions, work with recruiters, attend recruiting events, and fill positions with qualified individuals. Candidate selected will be responsible for performance and career development counseling and assessments, conducting salary planning, performing succession planning, and other L-code managerial activities. Basic Qualifications:

BS in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science or equivalent experience.

-Minimum of 9 years experience with a BS or 7 years of experience with a MS, with increasing levels of technical depth and responsibility.

-Demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills.

-Experience managing cost accounts and schedules

-Strong leadership, team building and interpersonal skills.

-Understanding of systems/software development life cycle activities.

Desired Skills:

Experience with the P704 or Mission Operations (MO) programs.

Demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills.
