This position is for a Systems Engineer on our Hardware Engineering and Maintenance team providing 24x7 operational support to a complex ground based communication system over a geographically diverse architecture including locations in several time zones around the world. Candidate will be expected to provide off hour call in support in the event of a system failure or anomaly.
This position will also serve as a project engineer who will use solid engineering practices to support and track project through the entire system life cycle. Candidate will be responsible for leading major projects as a team leader and providing status updates to management. Projects may include but are not limited to system/enhancement delivery, critical failure resolution teams, readiness reviews or local acceptance testing participation or verification. Candidate will also be responsible for learning the system and qualifying in all major subsystems to include an advanced TOC in a specific subsystem identified by need at the time of employment.
Daily activities will include but not limited to review of system issues and assigned discrepancies, preparation of status briefing materials and providing face to face customer briefings, perform preventative or corrective maintenance as scheduled on the system.
Candidate will be required to prepare materials and present status briefings to contract and customer leadership and must have strong written and oral communication skills. Candidate will also be required to review technical volumes and prepare comments, clarification requests or non-compliance concerns to external stakeholders.
Candidate must have prior RF communications experience and have the ability to work in a team environment with members in different time zones. Performance of job functions will include climbing multiple sets of stairs, working on elevated platforms, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and working in non-climate controlled workspaces. Strict adherence to all applicable administrative, safety and security policies is required.
Applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Will also be required and take a Polygraph examination before the start of employment.
Travel will be required to other operational locations as well as site visits with external delivering contractors.
Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

- Current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to function in a multi-contractor environment. Ability to work effectively with people as a multi-disciplinary, multi-contractor team. Excellent customer relation skills to provide quality service to external users.
- Knowledge of or the ability to understand RF communications systems. Knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems and basic command line arguments.
- Ability to react quickly and accurately to changing requirements. Able to use logical reasoning to respond in a dynamic environment
- A valid Tier 2 IAWEP industry certification
- Prior system integration and maintenance experience.
Scripting and basic software programming knowledge.
Leadership experience in a small team.
Complete project management skills
