Function as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). Will apply information technology security principles and configure security settings for Windows Servers/Clients, LINUX/UNIX, PC Desktops, LAN management, and supported applications. Complete weekly system audits and conduct media reviews as directed by the site ISSM.

Develop and implement government approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of multiple networked and standalone classified computers, and coordinate government agency approvals.

Consult on the design, development, integration, and analysis of classified computing systems with the site ISSM. Conduct self-inspection reviews. Conduct comprehensive investigation of computer security incidents, coordinating with other organizations for expertise.

Responsible for policy interpretation, ongoing guidance and direction to on site personnel on IS Security issues, and participation in applicable Review Boards and Technical Exchange Meetings.

With guidance from the site ISSM the ISSO will be responsible for systems security, testing and system accreditation activities

Will be required to interact with customer personnel on a regular basis regarding ongoing compliance and to coordinate system modifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Understanding of DSS and ICD503/RMF certification and accreditation processes for classified systems. Windows and Linux administration skills. Strong hands on computer system and networking knowledge. DoD 8570 Security relevant certification (Security +, CISSP, etc.). Must have Final Secret Clearance. Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual Chapter 8 as well as ICD503/RMF. Knowledge of other security disciplines and how they impact and interact with IS security. Must have experience with the development, implementation, and maintenance of computer security plans. .

Desired Skills:

Current NISPOM CH 8, ODAA process experience.

ICD503/RMF experience

Information Assurance Officer (IAO) or ISSM experience.

SIPRNet CNDSP Knowledge/experience

Works well independently and in group settings.

Strong interpersonal & communications skills.
