Lockheed Martin Contract Negotiator / Huntsville in Huntsville, Alabama
Description: The candidate is responsible for all aspects of contract administration on various types of contracts in the C4ISR line of business with a variety of customers. Activities include: prepare proposals and inputs to proposal briefing packages; review proposal estimates and delivery schedules; draft contractual language; conduct fact-finding and assist in negotiation; prepare and maintain management reports; examine performance requirements; research contractual issues; advise program management of contractual rights and obligations; compile and analyze data; maintain an historical record of the contract; and conduct all actions necessary to close the contract. The candidate is also responsible for performing all contract management and administration duties in accordance with customer specifications, Federal Acquisition Regulations, government and/or statutory laws, legal requirements, and/or company policies and procedures.
The candidate must maintain the official record of negotiations and accurate files of all contractual documents and correspondence. The candidate will assist the Contracts organization in audits, reviews, data calls, and other special projects as required. Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently in performing assigned tasks and perform multiple duties in a fast paced environment.
The qualified candidate must be flexible, capable of working both government and international contracts, demonstrates out-of-the-box thinking and can establish effective working relationships and communications with all internal and external customers. The candidate must have very good written and oral communication skills; must be detail and teamwork oriented; and must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
A basic understanding of Government contracts and some business related education. MS computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, Access). Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Some business travel may be required as necessary to support the program. Selected candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Basic knowledge of government and/or commercial contract terms & conditions / regulations and systems is a plus
