Description: Come be a part of the development of the new Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon (HCSW). This new air-launched weapon system will include phases progressing through design, flight test, initial production and deployment of the weapon system. Join the Lockheed Martin team and be a part of the company that has developed and flown more hypersonic vehicles than any other U.S. Company and has decades of hypersonic development and flight test experience from government contracts as well as internal investments in research and development projects.Candidate will perform as technical leader and flight software test engineer for the Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon (HCSW) verifying and validating flight software. This position reports to the HCSW SW Manager and will serve as the functional manager for 10-15 software engineers. Primary responsibilities are to lead the software test team, providing technical leadership to junior staff to (1) develop flight software requirements allocated from the product specification tree, (2) develop the approach for verifying the software requirements, (3) develop test plans and procedures to supply the objective evidence needed for the requirements verification approach, (4) utilize real-time hardware-in-the-loop test beds to develop test procedures and execute testing, (5) perform analysis of the test data and document the requirement verification, (6) perform validation analysis of specific mission requirements and document, (7) use the DOORS tool for tracing the requirements flow down to mission specific testing and tracking the status of requirement verification, (8) develop software tools for automating the analysis of test data for requirements compliance, (9) verify software support tools are adequate and under configuration management, (10) verify test bed (software and hardware) is certified and under configuration management, (11) participate in test readiness review boards prior to qualification testing, and (12) support preparation and presentation of materials as part of software acceptance review (SAR). In the execution of these responsibilities the candidate is to adhere to company command media and customer contract requirements. The nature of the work requires the candidate be organized and detailed oriented. This position requires strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment and to interface with software developers, software test engineers, system engineers, program management, quality assurance engineers and customer representatives. This position also requires performing functional management responsibilities such as hiring, performance management, career development, and oversight of training.

Desired Skills: Missile flight software development and/or test experience; Safety critical software testing; Experience in requirements development and/or analysis for software/hardware interfaces; Experience using DOORS tool; Familiar with launch vehicle avionics hardware; Knowledge of and experience with the Missile Defense Agency and Target and Countermeasures (TCP) customer ; Control Account Managment certificaiton

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Software development, integration, and/or testing; Software testing; Requirements verification and validation; DoD Secret clearance; Proven successful management of diverse personnel within a Software Engineering environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in briefing of executive-level management, government and industry customers. Demonstrated ability to communicate successfully between engineering disciplines. Candidate should have experience in effectively collaborating with the DCMA and direct customers. Must have a current assignment in software engineering on an MDS program, with time available to support both a functional and program role as described above (to be negotiated with program management). Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Scientific discipline. Must have at least 10 years of applicable engineering experience related to weapon systems, with broad technical skills and development experience throughout a program life cycle. Must have a working familiarity with software engineering - related processes, and experience in applying them. Must be capable of domestic travel and hold a DoD Secret clearance or higher.
