Description: This position is for the dynamic role of Atlas Product Manager. The Atlas Value Stream is part of the System Services (S2) organization which focuses on IT Infrastructure and its associated products. The Product Manager is the main content authority guiding the MCC (Mission Control Cloud) Release Train within the Atlas Value Stream. The MCC Release Train has multiple product teams, each with two Agile leadership roles of Product Owner and Agile Master or Scrum Master. The Atlas Product Teams include the following IT Infrastructure products: Virtualization, Database, Operating Systems, Networks, Asset Management, Systems Engineering, Hardware, Storage, Software, Configuration Management, Property Management, Information Assurance and Special Operations team supporting the Service Operations Center (SOC). This role has primary responsibility for the Program/Release Train Level backlog. In support of the Value Stream vision, the Product Manager has a key role in implementing the vision within the Release Train with the Product Team leaders. The Product Manager works with customers and tenants to understand their needs, defines requirements, and guides work. In understanding the Value Stream Priorities, the Product Manager appropriately prioritizes Release Train work and schedules the work for release via the roadmap, validates customer response and provides fast feedback. Atlas work is tracked in ServiceNow, the Atlas tool for service management. The Atlas Product Manager has the ultimate responsibility for WHAT value the Release Train will produce.

•Working with customer(s) to understand their needs and defining requirements and validating solutions

•Communicating the value stream vision to the product teams

•Creating and updating the epic roadmaps - allocating work (features) to releases

•Prioritizing release train level backlog (features) with associated acceptance criteria

•Executing a key role in Release Planning with feature-level prioritization and on-boarding of work

•Defining Value Releases and working with Release Management to get value released to the customer

•Providing weekly status to tenants and value stream leadership

•Participating in System Demos and Inspect & Adapt workshops

•Building an effective Product Management Team (PM/PO team)

•Participating in the Atlas Value Stream ERB (Engineering Review Board)

•Providing inputs to Atlas Value Stream costing efforts such as ROM and WAG

This role will also include CAM (Cost Account Management) responsibilities shared among the Atlas leadership. CAM responsibilities include understanding IWAD content and schedule (with success criteria) which contributes to roadmap development and release planning budget analysis determining if the work planned is prioritized and allocated according to budget. Monthly variance reviews require understanding of work budgeted, scheduled and performed. The Product Manager has key insight for understanding cost and schedule variances and contributes to variance reviews and corrective actions. The Product Manager will work with the CAMs and may be asked to do CAM work as well, in order to support the Earned Value Methodology and to provide updates to the Business Operations organization. Ensuring teams are appropriately charging for work performed is enabled through communication to teams of work alignment to project and tracking work and charging direction in ServiceNow.

Desired Skills: A strong candidate would be familiar with our singular service management tool, ServiceNow, which handles our incident and demand management as well as our planned and unplanned work and maintenance. Broad knowledge of IT Infrastructure and a deep knowledge of at least one infrastructure product area is necessary to transition into the role in a reasonable time. Atlas follows SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and Agile methodology to plan and execute work, so familiarity with this framework and methodology is essential. Atlas leadership understand ITIL (IT Information Library) and are certified in ITIL Foundations. Atlas is key value stream to the Symphony program and serves our tenants (P321, Canyon, P330, SDDS and others). Familiarity with these tenants is desirable.

Familiarity with our singular service management tool, ServiceNow, which handles our incident and demand management as well as our planned and unplanned work and maintenance is beneficial.

S2 follows SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and Agile methodology to plan and execute work, so familiarity with this framework and methodology is preferred

ServiceNow experience

ITIL familiarity or certification

Possession of TS/SCI security clearance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

In ensuring the appropriate prioritization of Atlas work, the Product Manager works closely with the Value Stream Business Owner in assessing and adjudicating a constant stream of incoming demands in a weekly Customer Engagement Demand meeting with our larger tenants and ad-hoc with remaining tenants.

Broad knowledge of IT Infrastructure and a deep knowledge of infrastructure product area is necessary to transition into the role in a reasonable time.

A strong candidate would have experience with managing technical, schedule and cost baseline.

The Atlas Product Manager has the ultimate responsibility for WHAT value the Release Train will produce.
