Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Associate - 3D Parametric Modeling - Special Operations Forces in Lexington, Kentucky
Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support our Special Operations Forces Support Activity (SOFSA) Program. This program is critical to the success of US service men and women deployed throughout the world. Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment anywhere in the world.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work as part of an engineering team based in Lexington, Ky.
The team is focused primarily on modifying existing hardware and integrating modified components into various platforms based on customer specifications. Your job will be to lead an effort to develop component and system designs based on customer requirements and interface control documents. Your designs will comply with applicable military specifications, SAE, ANSI, ASME, and other related design and drafting standards.
You will take these design elements and work with electrical and mechanical teams to develop working models for integration of these components. Upon design completion, you will be expected to support the fabrication, installation, and integration of your design by providing support to the mechanic workforce as required.
Extensive experience with 3D parametric modeling or related design software tools
Experience with Teamcenter Engineering or similar PDM/PLM software tool.
Experience with creation, review, and approval of change documentation.
Familiarity with SAE AS50881 and ANSI/ASME Y14.100 or related design and drafting standards.
Experience with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Previous success working in a team based environment to meet objectives
Must possess strong communication and presentation skills
Experience working in an aerospace environment with exposure to or interface with DoD customers.
Experience with Catia V5 or other 3D parametric modeling program.
