Assists engineers in the research, design, development and test of a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. Work with more experienced engineers as they provide technical/engineering support to Electronics teams for issues related to the performance of the various electronics hardware. Assist more senior engineers with the design, development, and test for electrical support equipment. The scope of these tasks ranges from conceptual development and initial design to production and deployment support. This position will also require the ability to understand, design and troubleshoot custom electronic circuitry and assemblies.
This position is with the Electronic Power Converter (EPC) Design group. This group provides total life-cycle support for EPC Components used for space applications, from concept development and initial design to production and deployed system support. The successful candidate may be required to provide support through all project phases including concept development, requirements generation and analysis, Preliminary Design, Critical Design, Production Readiness, Test Readiness, Design Qualification, Requirements Verification, Production, Formal Acceptance, Delivery, Installation and Product Support.
Bachelors or Masters degree in an Electrical/Electronics program or other related discipline from an accredited college/university.
Demonstrated circuit design and troubleshooting understanding
Demonstrated circuit analysis understanding
Demonstrated understanding of power supply design
Understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics.
Worst case analysis experience, including use of analysis tools (i.e. Mathcad, Pspice, etc.).
Experience with Test and Measurement Equipment;
Experience with Mentor Graphics, ORCAD, Zuken or comparable drawing package.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
