Lockheed Martin Electronics Packaging Engineer in Littleton, Colorado

Description: An exciting opportunity for an entry level professional. The candidate will work closely with an experienced engineer to create 3D solid models in CREO and/or IDEAS of space flight avionics, RF modules and electrical ground support equipment (EGSE). The candidate will support trade studies on electronic packaging design approaches and will provide technical data for

informal and formal Design Review documentation and presentations.

The candidate will coordinate with thermal, dynamic, stress, reliability, EMC, and survivability analyses to assure compliant designs. The candidate will support manufacturing and test disciplines in minimizing cycle time and resolving electronic packaging problems.

Working closely with an experienced engineer, the candidate will establish specifications for contract assemblers and raw-material vendors. Interface with Parts Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance. Provide producible designs that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, and work within an Integrated

Product Team environment.

The candidate will prepare all applicable drawings and documentation needed for the fabrication and assembly of the hardware designed.

Desired Skills: Knowledge of advanced packaging technologies including

Surface Mount Technology (SMT), advanced materials and parts.

Experience working on the development of spaceflight receivers,

amplifiers, EPC's, High Voltage Electronics and Hybrid

assemblies.

Working knowledge of the following:

1. Experience in Electronic Packaging of space flight avionics in a

model-based environment

2. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

3. CREO Solid modeling and drafting or similar 3D CAD modeling

software.

4. Experience with Zuken, SAP/IRIS/PDM/EPDM.

5. Drafting techniques and manufacturing processes.

6. Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Mechanical

Engineering or equivalent experience

Entry level experience with CAD design tools is required.
