Lockheed Martin New Mission Architect in Littleton, Colorado
The SPP New Mission Architect supports Space Situational Awareness (SSA), Space Control, Resilience and/or Protection mission sets within a Space Battle Management, Command, Control & Communications (BMC3) framework. Supports threat analysis and solution identification for National Security Space Systems and the development, integration and demonstration of key technical discriminators, including advanced counter-threat capabilities and payloads within the Military Space Line of Business.
The SPP New Mission Architect is responsible for leading a matrixed, cross-functional team in all phases of mission, threat, resilience and protection analysis, roadmap development aligning counter-threat technology development, demonstration and transition to IRAD and/or CRAD studies/projects, competitive offer development and transition to flight programs, customer shaping, and business pipeline. The SPP New Mission Architect establishes design concepts, manufacturability, mission assurance criteria and engineering standards for space security payload research, development, integration and test, while providing thought leadership across a broad range of architectures.
The New Mission Architect serves as the primary Customer contact for new mission studies. Skills include TS/SCI security clearance, DoD, Intel Community (IC), Matlab, systems engineering, architect, space systems, project management, EVM, CONOPs, agile.
Basic Qualifications • Top Secret clearance with an investigation within the past 5 years • DOD or Intel Community (IC) experience • Experience in developing space systems • Effective communication with senior leadership among internal, customer, and wider stakeholder audiences • Project management experience and the ability to transition technology and research breakthroughs into systems or products • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field (i.e., Aerospace, Astronautical, Computer, Electrical, and/or Mechanical Engineering)
Desired skills • 12 - 20 years of related work experience • TS/SCI w/Poly clearance • Systems Engineering, with emphasis on the development of system architecture, CONOPs, requirements, key metrics, program schedules and cost estimates • Earned Value Management (EVM), Agile Systems Engineering and/or Software Development processes • Leading teams in the identification of technology gaps, translating them into requirements, developing associated technology roadmaps and investment plans and overseeing their implementation to effectively address emerging threats while increasing mission solution affordability • Master's degree in a relevant engineering field
